On June 12, 2025, Drag Academy made herstory with North America’s first-ever drag show in the sky, an electrifying celebration of queerness, artistry, and international connection—all at 30,000 feet above ground.
The flight, operated by Flair Airlines, departed from Toronto, Canada, and headed south toward Guadalajara, Mexico, transforming a routine flight into an airborne runway of glamour, stunts, and high-flying talent.
Five dazzling drag artists brought the aisle to life mid-flight, delivering unforgettable performances to a cabin full of delighted travelers. Leading the show was none other than Horacio Potasio of Drag Race México, who shook the plane with gravity-defying renditions of Britney Spears’ Toxic and Dua Lipa’s Levitating. With fierce choreography, dramatic reveals, and a jaw-dropping split between the aisle seats, Horacio proved that not even turbulence could compete with drag talent.
She was followed by Canada’s Drag Race stars Miss Fiercalicious and The Girlfriend Experience, who teamed up for a show-stopping rendition of Defying Gravity, bringing Broadway magic to the skies with pitch-perfect vocals and synchronized elegance.
Joining in the fun was fellow Canada’s Drag Race icon Kiara, who swapped her stilettos for service as she helped hand out immigration forms—adding sparkle, sass, and good humor to the duties of international travel.
Upon touchdown, the queens were welcomed by Guadalajara Tourism, who treated the artists to a luxurious, all-inclusive tour of the city. From tequila tastings to mariachi serenades, the celebration continued on the ground, culminating in the vibrant festivities of Guadalajara Pride.
Reflecting on the historic milestone, Daven Seebarran, founder of Drag Academy, shared:
“This flight wasn’t just about performance—it was about visibility, celebration, and showing the world that drag belongs everywhere, even in the sky. We are so proud to have partnered with Flair Airlines and Guadalajara Tourism to bring joy, art, and queerness to cruising altitude. This is what it means to take pride to new heights.”
This unforgettable event was made possible thanks to the generous support of Flair Airlines and Guadalajara Tourism, who recognized the powerful role drag plays in creating joy, building community, and sparking change.
Drag Academy’s Drag Show in the Sky was more than a performance—it was a bold declaration that Pride doesn’t just march... it soars.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this sky-high celebration possible. Who knows what’s next—drag on the moon?
