We are launching an ambitious new artist collaboration to create an original regional work, developed in partnership with Hillary Yes, that centres drag artistry, storytelling, and musical innovation.

This project will be an original Drag Opera—a large-scale, genre-bending production that blends drag performance with live music, narrative, movement, and spectacle. Rooted in community and collaboration, this work will be developed through a co-creation model, bringing together artists from a wide range of backgrounds, disciplines, and lived experiences.

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking co-creation artists to help bring this project to life, including but not limited to:

  • Writers & playwrights

  • Storytellers & dramaturgs

  • Musicians & composers

  • Vocalists

  • Choreographers & movement artists

Whether you come from drag, theatre, music, dance, or interdisciplinary performance, we are especially interested in artists who are excited to collaborate, experiment, and build something entirely new together.

The Vision

Our goal is to collectively write and develop an original production that celebrates drag as a powerful storytelling and cultural form. This work is being created with the intention of being presented at festivals and performance spaces across Canada, amplifying the voices and artistry of those involved.

This collaboration is grounded in shared authorship, creative exchange, and respect for diverse artistic practices. Artists will be invited into the process not just as contributors, but as collaborators, shaping the heart of the work.

Join the Creation

If you’re excited by collaborative creation, bold storytelling, and the opportunity to help shape a new Canadian drag opera from the ground up, we want to hear from you. Let’s make something unforgettable, together.
